Rochester Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Auburn Block Party Shooting

AUBURN, N.Y. – Authorities have identified 43-year-old Ronell Agee, a resident of Rochester, as the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred during a block party in Auburn over the weekend.

According to the Auburn Police Department, officers were patrolling near Oak Creek Town Homes around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday due to a large gathering in the area. While monitoring the event, officers heard multiple gunshots coming from nearby Chapman Avenue and immediately responded.

At the scene, police located two individuals: 35-year-old Davon Dixon, who was reportedly armed, and Ronell Agee, who was found on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers ordered Dixon to drop his weapon, and he allegedly complied without incident. He was taken into custody at the scene.

Officers rendered first aid to Agee until paramedics arrived and transported him to Auburn Community Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead despite emergency efforts.

Dixon has since been charged with second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Authorities have not yet revealed a motive for the shooting or the nature of the relationship, if any, between Dixon and Agee.
