WALKER COUNTY, AL — Authorities have identified the man who tragically lost his life in a fiery crash last week in Walker County. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, 29-year-old Joshua K. Leblanc of Huntsville died after the 2021 Tesla Model 3 he was driving crashed and caught fire.
Senior Trooper Gregory Corble stated that the incident occurred on Tuesday, July 22, at approximately 2:45 p.m. on Hill Road near Drummond Switch Cut Off Road, about two miles south of Empire.
Investigators say Leblanc’s vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a guardrail, and collided with multiple trees before becoming engulfed in flames. Leblanc was pronounced dead at the scene. His remains were transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, where his identity was officially confirmed.
As of Thursday, no further details have been released. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
