EARLING, Iowa — Officials in Shelby County are investigating the death of 32-year-old Theresa Kenkel, whose body was discovered inside her home in the small town of Earling on Thursday.
Deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence near the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 2nd Street to perform a welfare check. Upon entering the home, deputies found Kenkel deceased.
Following protocol, her body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
