In Loving Memory of Cedric Jones

It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of Cedric Jones, a 43-year-old Highland Park native who was fatally struck on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, while performing drainage repair work on Orchard Lake Road near 10 Mile in Farmington Hills. Cedric was working for the Road Commission for Oakland County, a role he had held for just over a year, when the heartbreaking incident occurred.

Cedric was more than a dedicated worker—he was a man of deep faith, unwavering love, and steadfast commitment to his family and community. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to six children, and an active member of his church, where he served joyfully on the praise team and supported various ministries.

To those who knew him, Cedric was a pillar of strength and humility. His kind heart, warm smile, and encouraging spirit left a lasting impression wherever he went. Whether he was leading worship, cheering on his children, or lending a hand to a neighbor, Cedric lived a life rooted in service, compassion, and purpose.

His passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of his wife, children, church family, friends, and coworkers. As they face unimaginable grief, the community is coming together to support Cedric’s loved ones in this time of great need.

A GoFundMe has been established to assist his family with funeral expenses and ongoing support for his children:
