BSPD Requests Public’s Help in Ongoing Homicide Investigation

BIG SPRING, Texas — The Big Spring Police Department (BSPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in an active homicide investigation following the death of Christopher Salazar, a 20-year-old Hispanic male, who was found deceased in the early morning hours of August 1, 2025.

At approximately 2:00 AM, officers responded to the 300 block of NE 6th Street, where Salazar was discovered lying in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The BSPD Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the case as a homicide. As of now, no further details regarding suspects or possible motives have been released.
