VENANGO TOWNSHIP, PA — A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded on Saturday evening as 18-year-old Jeril Allen Paul Hutton of Clearfield County lost his life in an accidental drowning in the Allegheny River.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, witnesses reported seeing a young man enter the river, only to be quickly pulled under by a strong current. Emergency crews, including fire and EMS, responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures, but sadly, their efforts were unsuccessful.
Jeril had been reported missing earlier in the day. His identity was confirmed following the recovery.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident, but at this time, it is believed to be a tragic accident. Our thoughts are with Jeril’s family, friends, and all those affected by this devastating loss.
