JACKSON, MS — A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken the Jackson community as an 8-year-old boy, identified only as Kingston, was fatally shot on Sunday, August 3, 2025. The incident occurred in the 3600 block of Lampton Avenue, where officers from the Jackson Police Department (JPD) responded to reports of gunfire just after the shooting took place.
According to Detective Tommie Brown, officers arrived to find young Kingston critically injured. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
