FARGO, N.D. — The Fargo Police Department has identified 20-year-old Tyrque Jones as the suspect in a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning outside a downtown nightclub.
Authorities say the shooting happened just before 2 a.m. on August 3 outside District 64, located in the 50 block of Broadway North. Three people were shot during the incident—one of whom died, and two others were hospitalized, including one in critical condition.
Tyrque Jones, a Fargo resident, is wanted in connection with the shooting. Police are actively searching for him and are asking the public for help locating him.
“Anyone with information regarding the location of Jones is encouraged to contact the Fargo Police Department at 701-241-5777,” the department said in a statement. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by texting the keyword FARGOPD and the tip to 847411.
Authorities have not released the names of the victims or disclosed any possible motive. It is also unclear whether Jones had any prior connection to those he allegedly shot.
The downtown shooting was one of two reported within 30 minutes in Fargo. Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a second scene at Westwood Estates, an apartment complex in the 4700 block of 16th Avenue South, near Willow Park Elementary. There, one person was found dead, though police have not confirmed whether the individual died by suicide or was the victim of another act of violence.
Detectives are investigating whether the two incidents are connected. As of late Sunday, Jones had not been named a suspect in the Westwood Estates death.
Westwood Estates is approximately five miles southwest of downtown Fargo—a 15-minute drive from the first shooting scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
