SEEKONK, Mass. — An 18-year-old woman from Providence tragically lost her life in a three-car crash late Sunday night on Interstate 195 West, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
The victim, Abriana Herrera Perez, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred around 11 p.m. near the Rhode Island–Massachusetts border, bringing traffic to a standstill as emergency crews responded.
Five other individuals sustained injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been released at this time.
All westbound lanes on I-195 were closed overnight as investigators worked to process the scene and clear the roadway. Traffic has since resumed, but the crash remains under investigation.
This devastating loss has deeply impacted the local community, as many mourn the sudden passing of a young life taken far too soon.
