Homicide Suspect Wanted in Fatal Weekend Shooting in Ellerbe

Richmond County, NC, Sheriff Mark Gulledge and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office are actively searching for a homicide suspect following a deadly shooting that occurred in Ellerbe on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Investigators have secured multiple arrest warrants for Raequan Lameek Ratliff, 28, of Hamlet, including a warrant for first-degree murder in the death of Wendell Robinson, Jr., 36, of Ellerbe.

Ratliff is described as a Black male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds. He is believed to be armed and extremely dangerous.

Authorities are urging the public not to approach Ratliff if seen. Instead, call 911 immediately or contact law enforcement with any information regarding his location.

Sheriff Gulledge emphasized the importance of community involvement in bringing Ratliff to justice. “We rely on the eyes and ears of our community to help us locate dangerous individuals. Please report anything you know—your call could make all the difference.”
