LEXINGTON, KY – A tragic collision on Tuesday night has resulted in the death of a pedestrian and the arrest of a driver on DUI charges, according to the Lexington Police Department.
Authorities say the incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on August 5 near Liberty Hill Drive on Liberty Road. An officer in the area was flagged down for a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved was identified as 35-year-old Bryce Daniel. Police say he was taken into custody and charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol.
The Fayette County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased once the family has been notified.
The Lexington Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
