DeKalb County, GA – The DeKalb County Police Department is mourning the tragic loss of Officer David Rose, 33, who was killed this afternoon while responding to a report of an armed gunman near Clifton Road and CDC Parkway.
Officer Rose joined the department in September 2024 and faithfully served with the North Central Precinct. Known for his dedication and courage, he was deeply committed to protecting the community he served.
He leaves behind his wife, two young children, and a third child on the way.
Interim Police Chief Greg Padrick spoke about the heartbreaking loss, saying, “He was committed to serving the community. At this time, we’re asking for the community’s prayers for his family, his friends, his loved ones, and the entire DeKalb County Police Department family.”
