Plainsboro, NJ — Authorities are investigating a three-vehicle crash early Friday morning that claimed the life of a 20-year-old man and left another person critically injured.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and Plainsboro Police say the incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. near the intersection of Route 1 South and College Road.
According to investigators, an Acura TSX driven by Johnathan Martinez, 20, of Somerset, struck the back of a dump truck, pushing it into the left lane, where it was then hit by a Hyundai Genesis.
Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The drivers of the dump truck and Hyundai suffered minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released additional details about what led to the collision.
