The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the man who tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle collision in Travelers Rest on Saturday afternoon.
The crash occurred shortly after 4:50 p.m. at the intersection of Tubbs Mountain Road and State Park Road. Emergency responders arrived on scene to find two vehicles had collided. One driver was transported to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Sadly, despite the efforts of medical personnel, the injured driver — identified as 87-year-old Robert S. Wolgemuth — was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. The community mourns the loss of Mr. Wolgemuth, remembered as a respected and cherished member of Travelers Rest.
