AMHERST COUNTY, Va — A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Amherst County on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
Virginia State Police reported that at approximately 3:00 p.m., a 2000 Ford Taurus, driven by 24-year-old Christhian Zuniga Castro of Madison Heights, ran off the side of Izaak Walton Road and collided with a tree. Castro was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that Castro was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
