COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died following a single-vehicle crash near North Weber Street and East Bijou Street on July 27.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, 60-year-old Richard Mondragon was riding a motorcycle with a passenger in the 200 block of North Weber Street when he lost control, causing the bike to tip over. Police confirmed that neither Mondragon nor his passenger was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

Both Mondragon and the passenger sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Tragically, Mondragon succumbed to his injuries the following day, July 28. The passenger remains in stable condition.

Investigators say no other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the cause remains under review.
