Tuskegee University is grieving the loss of Macahri Washington-Parker, a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering, who passed away on Sunday. A proud native of Montgomery, Washington-Parker was known for his leadership, warmth, and dedication to the campus community.
He served as a New Student Orientation leader, guiding incoming students through their first steps at Tuskegee, and was an active member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he made a lasting impact through service and brotherhood.
“We are heartbroken to learn of Macahri’s passing,” said Tuskegee University President and CEO Dr. Mark A. Brown. “We will come together to uplift his family and each other during this time.”
In the wake of this tragedy, the university is providing counseling and pastoral care to students, faculty, and staff, both in person and via its 24/7 TimelyCare virtual platform, ensuring the campus community has the support needed to navigate this difficult time.
Washington-Parker’s memory will live on in the lives he touched, the friendships he built, and the leadership he displayed. Plans to honor his life and legacy will be shared by the university in the coming days.
