A 19-year-old has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting of Jonathan Triplett on North 38th Street.
The tragic incident occurred in April near the intersection of N. 38th Street and Choctaw Drive. Police discovered a Dodge vehicle riddled with multiple bullet holes, with 18-year-old Jonathan Triplett found deceased in the driver’s seat.
Investigators noted that the bullet damage was concentrated on the driver’s side, indicating that the shooting was deliberate. Authorities identified the suspect as 19-year-old Keithan Lee, who surrendered to law enforcement after seeing his photo circulated on OnLive Patrol.
Lee has been formally booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and faces charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon.
