Two Youths Arrested in Scarborough Town Centre Homicide

TORONTO — Toronto Police Service has announced arrests in connection with the homicide of 19-year-old Daniel Amalathas. On Thursday, August 21, 2025, at approximately 1:51 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting at Scarborough Town Centre. Police located Amalathas in a mall washroom, where he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On Thursday, August 28, two 17-year-old males from Toronto were arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the killing. Both are scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice, 10 Armoury Street, Room 606, on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 10 a.m.
