Fatal Motorcycle Crash Under Investigation in Greenwood, Delaware

GREENWOOD, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Friday morning in Greenwood, resulting in the death of a 39-year-old Dover man.

The crash happened on August 29, 2025, at approximately 7:10 a.m. on Beach Highway, west of Webb Farm Road. Authorities report that a gray Kawasaki ZX6 motorcycle was traveling westbound at a high rate of speed when the rider attempted to pass two vehicles ahead.

During the maneuver, the motorcycle entered the eastbound lane and, upon returning to the westbound lane, the rider lost control. The motorcycle began to skid, left the roadway, and struck a utility pole. The impact ejected the rider, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are withholding his identity pending family notification.

Beach Highway remained closed for about five hours as investigators processed the scene. The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate.
