Man Dead After Shooting in Rankin; Victim Identified

RANKIN, Pa. — Authorities are investigating after a deadly shooting in Rankin on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a young man.

Allegheny County dispatchers said emergency crews were called to the area of Duquesne Street and Oak Alley around 3:10 p.m. Officers arrived to find a male victim, later identified as 22-year-old Razele Shelton, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Police reported that multiple rounds had been fired at the scene, but Shelton was struck only once. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner confirmed Shelton’s identity late Friday evening. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting and have not released any information about a suspect.
