PLAINS TWP., Pa. — Luzerne County Coroner Dion Fernandes has identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash on North River Street Friday morning as 37-year-old Erick Velez of Exeter.
Authorities said Velez was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center but was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The crash, which involved a motorcycle and a Jeep, occurred at the intersection of Hancock Street near the Burger King in Plains Township. Plains Township police and Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident.
No further details have been released, and authorities are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the local police department.
