SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A man was killed early Friday morning in a wrong-way crash involving a suspected drunk driver in northeast San Antonio, police said.
San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officers responded around 3 a.m. to reports of a major accident on the 16300 block of Wurzbach Parkway. Authorities said a driver in a blue Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound in a westbound lane when he struck a gray 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis head-on.
The victim, 37-year-old Justin Wade Mangum, was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspected wrong-way driver was taken to a hospital for evaluation, where police determined he was intoxicated. He was subsequently arrested.
SAPD continues to investigate the circumstances of the crash. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity pending further investigation.
