GREENE COUNTY, Ark. — Authorities have identified the victim of a deadly single-vehicle crash near Lake Frierson State Park.
Jennie A. Horton, a resident of Trumann, lost her life after her 2011 Chevrolet Malibu left the highway, struck a tree, and overturned multiple times. The crash occurred on Highway 141 near Lake Frierson State Park at approximately 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, according to the Arkansas State Police.
Police reported that Horton was driving southbound at the time of the crash. Officials noted that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry when the accident occurred. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Horton was pronounced deceased.
The Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been released regarding contributing factors, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the State Police.
