SHREVEPORT, La. — Shreveport authorities have identified 17-year-old Cameron Ballentine as the victim of a fatal shooting early Sunday morning in the Martin Luther King Jr. neighborhood.
According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, Ballentine was shot multiple times shortly after midnight in the 3300 block of Bond Drive, located between Roy Road and Downing Street. He was immediately transported to Ochsner LSU Health, where he was pronounced dead at 12:54 a.m. An autopsy has been ordered to confirm the cause of death.
This incident marks the 25th homicide in Shreveport for 2025 and the 30th in Caddo Parish overall during the same period, underscoring ongoing concerns about gun violence in the area.
The Shreveport Police Department is actively investigating the shooting and has urged anyone with information to come forward to assist with the case. No suspects have been publicly identified at this time.
