KNOX COUNTY, Ky. — The Knox County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of 44-year-old Priscilla Jones, who was fatally attacked by a pack of dogs on Friday, August 30.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. in the Flat Lick community while Jones was walking along Sandy Branch. According to authorities, an acquaintance who heard her screams called 911, prompting a response from the East Knox Fire Department. First responders found Jones severely injured and unable to communicate.
Jones was transported by Knox County EMS to Barbourville ARH Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The Barbourville Police Department also assisted at the scene.
The sheriff’s office confirmed the attack involved multiple dogs roaming the area and described the incident as part of an ongoing investigation. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the dogs or the circumstances surrounding the attack to contact the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
