CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. — Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died after a crash on Antioch Road Saturday night.
The victim was 55-year-old Darren Shelton, according to the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said Shelton’s motorcycle struck a deer near the 10000 block of Antioch Road, causing him to run off the road and collide with several trees.
Shelton was pronounced dead at the scene by the Christian County Coroner’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are urging motorists to remain cautious when wildlife is present along roadways, particularly after dark.
