EAU CLAIRE – Authorities have released the names of the victim and suspect in a weekend homicide that occurred in Eau Claire.
Police say officers were called to a residence on Sunset Drive around 2 p.m. Saturday following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a man who had died from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim has been identified as 37-year-old Michael Lee.
Investigators quickly identified 29-year-old Dakota Bilderback as a suspect. He was taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of second-degree intentional homicide. Formal charges are still pending.
According to police, Lee and Bilderback were known to each other. Public records indicate the two shared a child together.
Authorities have not yet released further details about what led to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing
