Authorities Identify Victim in Fatal Salisbury Township Motorcycle Crash

SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Officials in Lehigh County have identified the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash that occurred earlier this week in Salisbury Township.

The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim as 24-year-old Brandon Gehris of Northampton Borough. According to authorities, Gehris was involved in a serious collision late Tuesday night and was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where he succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced dead at 12:44 a.m. Wednesday.

Investigators reported that Gehris had been operating a motorcycle when it collided with a car near the intersection of South Cedar Crest Boulevard and Fish Hatchery Road around 11 p.m. Despite wearing a helmet, Gehris sustained multiple blunt force injuries, which the coroner listed as the cause of death. His passing has been officially ruled an accident.

The incident is under investigation by the Salisbury Township Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, the Lehigh County Crash Team, and the coroner’s office. Authorities are working to determine what factors—such as speed, roadway conditions, or driver error—may have contributed to the crash. Details about the driver of the car have not yet been released.

Motorcycle crashes like this one highlight the risks faced by riders, even when protective gear is used. Helmets can reduce the risk of fatal head injuries, but motorcyclists remain especially vulnerable in collisions with larger vehicles.

The sudden death of Brandon Gehris has left family, friends, and the Northampton community grieving the loss of a young life cut short. Funeral and memorial service details have not yet been announced.

Authorities are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash to contact Salisbury Township Police as the investigation continues.
