Fatal Crash Claims Life of Lake Charles Man in Iberia Parish

NEW IBERIA, La. — The community is mourning the loss of 58-year-old Waddell Mulmore of Lake Charles, who tragically died in a two-vehicle crash in Iberia Parish.

Louisiana State Police responded just before 6 a.m. on U.S. 90 near Neco Town Road after reports of a serious collision. According to authorities, Mulmore was driving a GMC Sierra westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle exited the roadway, overcorrected, and crossed both lanes of traffic. The truck entered the median and collided with an eastbound Nissan Murano.

Mulmore, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Nissan driver, who was restrained, suffered serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, urging anyone with information to contact Louisiana State Police for further details.

The tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of roadway incidents and the importance of seatbelt use.
