Henrico Police Investigating Deadly Late-Night Pedestrian Crash

HENRICO, Va. — Henrico Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred late Wednesday night in the Tuckahoe Magisterial District.

On September 3, 2025, just before midnight, officers responded to the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Westhampton Glen Drive after reports of a pedestrian being struck. When they arrived, they found two adult pedestrians and a Nissan Altima involved in the collision.

One of the pedestrians, identified as 25-year-old Alexandria Current of Oklahoma, was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite emergency efforts, she later died.

Investigators said Current and another adult male attempted to cross the westbound lanes of Patterson Avenue when the crash happened. While the male avoided being hit, Current was struck by the Nissan.

Police confirmed that the driver of the Altima remained on scene and fully cooperated with officers. At this stage, alcohol, drugs, and speed are not believed to have played a role in the crash. Instead, investigators noted that dark clothing, low lighting, and crossing outside of a designated crosswalk likely contributed to the tragedy.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crash Investigator T. Holmes at (804) 501-5000, or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000 or P3tips.com.
