Antonio Topp – Fayetteville Motorcyclist Killed in Crash with School Bus

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A tragic crash on Friday morning claimed the life of a motorcyclist after colliding with a Cumberland County Schools bus, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

The collision occurred just before 7:40 a.m. near the intersection of Bragg Boulevard and Andy Street, a busy area during the morning commute. Investigators said a school bus was heading south on Bragg Boulevard and attempted to use a designated U-turn area to head north. As the bus made the turn, a motorcycle traveling northbound struck the side of the vehicle, resulting in a violent impact.

The motorcyclist, identified as 33-year-old Antonio Topp of Fayetteville, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by first responders. His passing has left family, friends, and the wider community mourning an unexpected and heartbreaking loss.

Two students and the bus driver were on board at the time of the collision. Thankfully, none were injured and were safely released to their families. Cumberland County Schools officials said counselors will be available to provide support for students and staff affected by the incident.

The crash prompted hours of traffic delays as investigators reconstructed the scene. Police have not yet determined whether charges or citations will follow, noting that factors such as speed, visibility, and right-of-way remain under review.

As Fayetteville grieves, authorities are urging continued caution on the roads—reminding all drivers of the lasting consequences tragedies like this bring to families and communities.
