Fatal Crash on I-95 Claims Life of Oakdale Woman

WESTBROOK, Conn. — Connecticut State Police are investigating a deadly crash that occurred Friday morning on a small stretch of I-95 in Westbrook, where two serious incidents unfolded within hours of each other.

According to investigators, the crash happened around 9:25 a.m. on September 5, 2025, just north of Exit 65 on I-95 southbound. Police reported that a tractor-trailer was traveling in the right lane when it was struck from behind by a smaller box truck.

The driver of the box truck, identified as 22-year-old Isabella R. Butzgy of Oakdale, sustained fatal injuries in the collision. Despite emergency response at the scene, she was pronounced deceased. No other injuries were immediately reported.

The accident caused significant delays along the busy interstate as crews worked to investigate, clear debris, and restore traffic flow. Authorities confirmed the case remains active, with troopers from Troop F continuing to examine evidence and circumstances that led to the crash.
