Milwaukee Crash: Marquette Lacrosse Players Killed, Driver Arrested

MILWAUKEE – A devastating crash in Milwaukee Friday evening claimed the lives of two Marquette University students and injured others, according to police and university officials.

The collision happened around 5 p.m. at 27th and St. Paul, when police say a 41-year-old driver struck a vehicle carrying six people. Two of the passengers, later identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner as 20-year-old Noah Snyder of New York and 19-year-old Scott Michaud of Ohio, died at the scene. Both were members of Marquette University’s men’s lacrosse team.

Four others inside the vehicle, including additional students, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene and local hospitals. The driver suspected of causing the crash was taken into custody, and the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing charges.

Witnesses described hearing a speeding car moments before a loud crash, followed by efforts to save the victims. One man said he watched first responders attempt CPR, but they were unable to revive one of the students.

Marquette University President Michael R. Lovell called the loss “difficult to comprehend,” urging prayers and support for the victims’ families, friends, and the campus community. A Mass of Remembrance will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Varsity Theatre, with additional spaces on campus available for students and staff to gather. Counseling and pastoral care have also been made available.

The Marquette lacrosse team shared a tribute on Instagram, noting that several teammates were also injured in the crash.
