Police: Motorcyclist Dead After Crash in Paradise, Impaired Suspect Arrested

LAS VEGAS  — A motorcyclist has died following a late-night crash in Paradise, and police say the other driver involved has been arrested on suspicion of impairment.

The crash happened around 11:25 p.m. on September 5 at the intersection of McLeod Drive and East Tropicana Avenue, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD).

Investigators say the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Tropicana in the rightmost lane when a Honda Accord, driven by 36-year-old Bryan Vargas-Caicedo, made a left turn from westbound Tropicana onto McLeod Drive. The Accord struck the motorcyclist, ejecting him onto the roadway.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead by medical staff. Vargas-Caicedo sustained minor injuries and, according to police, showed signs of impairment. He was subsequently booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section is continuing to investigate. Officials confirmed this crash marks the 111th traffic-related fatality in the department’s jurisdiction in 2025.
