FERGUSON, Mo. (September 7, 2025) – A man who gained national attention more than a decade ago as a witness in the Michael Brown case has been killed in a shooting in Ferguson.
Police say the incident happened around 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the 9600 block of Abaco Court, near Exuma Drive. When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Dorian Johnson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Johnson was with Michael Brown in 2014 during the controversial police shooting that sparked nationwide protests and a lasting movement for racial justice.
According to the Ferguson Police Department, a person of interest is in custody, but investigators say the case remains active.
