GOLDFIELD, Iowa (September 6, 2025) – Authorities have released the names of those involved in a fatal UTV crash that occurred early Saturday morning in Wright County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the passenger killed in the accident has been identified as 20-year-old McKenna Mae Woodbeck of Huxley. The driver, 21-year-old Levi Edward Rasmussen of Goldfield, was injured and transported by Eagle Grove Ambulance to Iowa Specialty Hospital for treatment.
The crash happened around 3:11 a.m. along the Boone River near Highway 3. Investigators say a John Deere Gator was traveling close to the river when the driver misjudged the distance. The vehicle slid off the riverbank and dropped a significant distance into the water. Both Rasmussen and Woodbeck were thrown from the UTV.
Tragically, Woodbeck became trapped beneath the vehicle and died at the scene.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, Eagle Grove Police Department, Eagle Grove Ambulance, and Goldfield Fire Department all assisted at the site of the crash.
