SELDEN, N.Y. – Suffolk County police have arrested 31-year-old Yeymi Sanchez-Guzman of Selden in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a pedestrian early Sunday morning, September 7, 2025.
Authorities said Randolph King, 36, of Selden, was struck while walking on College Road, just north of Mooney Pond Road, at approximately 1:20 a.m. A passing driver discovered debris and King lying unconscious in the roadway minutes later and called 911. Despite life-saving efforts, King was pronounced dead at the scene by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Detectives launched an investigation and soon located a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee with significant front-end and windshield damage. Police determined the vehicle was connected to the crash and arrested Sanchez-Guzman.
She has been charged with Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident and is currently being held at the Sixth Precinct. Her arraignment was scheduled for later Sunday in First District Court in Central Islip.
