WHITESBURG, Ky. — Kentucky State Police have identified Jonathan Stewart, 30, as the victim of a fatal dirt bike crash that occurred Sunday in Letcher County.
Troopers say Stewart was riding along State Road 1148 when he lost control of his off-road dirt bike and collided with a guardrail. Investigators noted that road conditions were slippery at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the accident. Authorities also confirmed that Stewart was not wearing a helmet.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Stewart tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Jonathan Stewart’s sudden passing has left family, friends, and the Whitesburg community heartbroken. Loved ones describe him as someone with a passion for adventure, whose life ended far too soon. His loss is a reminder of the importance of safety on the road, particularly for riders.
