Remembering Howard Johnson Kingsley Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Howard Johnson Kingsley Jr., 73, of Stevensville, Michigan, who tragically passed on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Howard was a proud Army veteran, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and an avid cyclist who brought joy to everyone who knew him.

Born May 3, 1952, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Howard served honorably in the Army Reserves for 25 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant. He loved riding his bike through Southwest Michigan, running, coaching track and field, and spending time outdoors. Howard’s warmth, humor, and passion for life left a lasting impression on his family, friends, and community.

He is survived by his wife Cheryl; children Scott (Vee), Katie (Alex), and Max (Regan); grandchildren Liam, Teagan, and Millie; sisters Evelyn Shabeeb and Miky Kingsley; and his beloved dog, Mocha.

A service to celebrate Howard’s life will be held on Thursday, September 11, at Starks and Menchinger Chapel in Saint Joseph, Michigan, with interment at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Friday, September 12.

Howard’s family encourages memorial contributions to Pachyderm Pedalers. His life, love, and spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.
