COLBERT, Okla – Colbert Public Schools announced Thursday morning that all classes were canceled due to an ongoing investigation into a shooting threat.
According to Superintendent Taylor Matlock, the threat specifically referenced September 15. He said both the FBI and local law enforcement are actively working to determine the origin and credibility of the threat.
The district posted the announcement on its website Thursday morning, notifying families and staff of the closure. Officials stressed that the decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure student and staff safety.

The school district said it will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
