FALLON, Nev. – The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol has identified 65-year-old Robert Riehm of Fallon as the victim of a deadly single-vehicle crash earlier this month on Wildes Road near Crook Road.
The crash occurred on September 3 around 3:50 p.m. According to investigators, Riehm was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala westbound on Wildes Road when he attempted to pass another vehicle. His car entered the eastbound lane, then veered onto the south shoulder, striking a power pole before overturning.
Riehm, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The crash forced the closure of Wildes Road in both directions between Testolin Road and Pasture Road for several hours as crews worked the scene.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command Major Incident Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
This is a developing story, and additional details will be released as they become available.
