MCCOMB, Miss. – McComb police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of 43-year-old Rodney Terrell James early Friday morning.
Authorities say the incident happened around 4:00 a.m. on September 26, 2025, at the Blue Sky gas station in the 1600 block of Delaware Avenue.
When officers arrived, they discovered James lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest. Despite efforts from first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that James had been involved in an altercation with another man before the shooting occurred. Police say they have identified a suspect or person of interest in connection to the case.
