VENICE, Calif. — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating the driver responsible for a deadly hit-and-run crash that killed a young man in Venice last week.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the victim as 25-year-old Neo Moroke, who was struck while walking in a marked crosswalk near Washington and Lincoln boulevards. The crash occurred between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on September 20.
Moroke was rushed to a nearby hospital after the collision but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators said the suspect vehicle is believed to be a blue SUV, last seen traveling eastbound on Washington Boulevard after the crash. The driver did not stop to render aid or identify themselves, as required by law.
As of Sunday, police reported there are no new leads on the suspect or vehicle. Investigators also noted there was no surveillance footage captured in the immediate area of the crash.
