ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Allentown on Wednesday afternoon as 24-year-old Jahlik R. Colon of Temple.
The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office reported that Colon was transported to a local hospital after the shooting, which occurred just before 5:30 p.m. near North 8th Street and Linden Street. Despite emergency efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after 6 p.m. His death has been ruled a homicide.
Officials have not yet released information on what may have led to the gunfire, and no arrests have been announced.
The case is currently under investigation by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and the coroner’s office.
Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the Allentown Police Department or the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
