BUREAU COUNTY, Ill. — Authorities have released the identity of the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash late Thursday night in Bureau County.
According to the Bureau County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 11:38 p.m. on Illinois Highway 6. Investigators determined that 26-year-old Brady Lafferty was riding his motorcycle westbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he veered off the roadway. Lafferty reportedly lost control of the motorcycle, which caused him to be thrown from the vehicle.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and provided medical aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, Lafferty was later pronounced dead, according to the Bureau County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities say no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The Sheriff’s Office, along with the coroner’s office, continues to investigate what led to the motorcycle leaving the roadway.
Friends and family remember Brady Lafferty as a kind and hardworking young man whose passion for life and adventure touched everyone who knew him. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of many within the community.
