WEST PALM BEACH, FL — Authorities have launched an intense manhunt for 22-year-old Emmanuel Keevon Dashawn McRae, who is accused of shooting a West Palm Beach police officer early Monday morning.
According to the West Palm Beach Police Department, officers responded around 2:00 a.m. to reports of an altercation in the 300 block of Baker Drive. Upon arrival, McRae allegedly opened fire, striking one of the responding officers.
The wounded officer was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Their current condition has not been released.
McRae is described as 5’11” tall, with brown hair and brown eyes, and is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Authorities are urging the public not to approach him under any circumstances.
A large-scale search involving multiple local and federal law enforcement agencies is underway as investigators continue to track McRae’s whereabouts.
