BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon along Tennessee Street as 25-year-old Kyron Carter.
According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, officers were called to the scene around 4:37 p.m. after reports of gunfire in the area. Witnesses told investigators that an unknown suspect drove by and began shooting, striking Carter. Despite efforts by emergency responders, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released any information about potential suspects or motives behind the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
This incident marks another act of gun violence impacting the Baton Rouge community, leaving family members and friends mourning the loss of a young man whose life was cut short far too soon.
