WACO, Texas — The Waco Police Department has confirmed that a 25-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash that occurred earlier this week.
Authorities say the crash happened on Monday, October 6, 2025, around 5 p.m., near W. Lakeshore Drive and Wood Lake Drive. Officers responding to the scene found Billy Joe Welch, 25, suffering from critical injuries after a single-vehicle motorcycle crash.
Welch was transported to a local hospital for treatment but, despite lifesaving efforts, he died from his injuries on Wednesday, October 8, according to police.
Investigators believe Welch was the only person involved in the crash, and no other vehicles were reported at the scene. The Waco Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
Authorities are reminding all motorists and riders to use caution on the roads, especially as fall weather brings changing conditions.
