Arnaudville Woman Killed in Early Morning Crash on LA 93

ARNAUDVILLE, La – Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a 49-year-old Arnaudville woman early Monday morning.

Troopers identified the victim as Michelle Romero. According to investigators, the crash occurred around 2 a.m. on LA 93 near Saputil Lane, directly across from Beau Chene High School. Authorities say Romero was driving a Nissan Rogue northbound when the vehicle went off the roadway, entered a drainage ditch, and overturned after hitting an embankment.

Romero, who was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, sustained serious injuries. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

State police collected a blood sample from Romero for routine toxicology testing, which is standard procedure in all fatal crashes on Louisiana highways. Troopers are continuing to investigate the cause of the incident to determine what factors may have contributed to the crash.

Louisiana State Police are urging all drivers to always wear seatbelts, remain alert behind the wheel, and avoid distractions to help prevent future tragedies on state roadways.
